First Lady Young is a member of the Silas First Baptist Church of Severna Park where her husband, the Reverend Jesse E. Young, is pastor.  Serving as First Lady, Dr. Young founded, organized and instructed the New Members Ministry.  She is a choir director in the Music Ministry, Director of the Women’s Ministry, and instructor of the Women’s Bible Study  First Lady Young is a highly respected and much sought after speaker and teacher. Nationally, she spreads God’s Word by conducting workshops, seminars and speaking engagements in various forums.  

As a registered nurse of 43 years, Dr. Young also ministers as a health professional consultant ensuring access and adequate healthcare for underserved populations across the country.  She is an inductee of Who’s Who among America’s Businesswomen.  She was acknowledged by the Annapolis Capital News highlighting her community service.  She participated in a national forum, providing insight on the impact of Health Reform on the African American Population.  In recognition of unparalleled dedication and service nationwide, the African- American Girls Mentoring Faith-based Partnership, Inc. recognized First Lady Young as a worthy honoree of the Women Walking by Faith Award. Dr. Young is a member of The Caucus of African American Leaders of Anne Arundel County serving as a member of the Health Commission. Dr. Young was recognized by the Caucus as a recipient of the Michelle Obama Leadership Award for her exemplary leadership in Anne Arundel County. .   Dr. Young is also a recipient of the Minister’s Wife of Year Award for Northeast Region of International Association of Ministers Wives and Widows Assoc and most recently inducted into the International Hall of Honor.

Dr. Young belongs to several professional organizations, as well as a member of the Local, State and International Association of Ministers, Wives and Widows. Dr. Young organized and is the founder of “Agape Fellowship”Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows Association of Anne Arundel County and Vicinity.

 She held the position as a Faculty Associate at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, and she received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Eastern Theological Seminary.

Dr. Young has been married to Pastor Young for 45 years.  They have two children, one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law, and four grandchildren.

Aside from all of her accomplishments, her greatest desire is to do the will of the Master and impact the lives of those she encounters by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ

As a servant of God, First Lady Young lives her life by I Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord”
